⚡ URGENT: Ontario is closing 9 OINP categories on May 30, 2026. No new applications will be accepted after this date. If you were planning to apply through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, you must act before the end of the month.
Which Categories Are Closing?
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is closing the following categories on May 30, 2026:
- Employer Job Offer — General stream (TEER 2-5)
- Master's or PhD Graduate stream
- International Student stream — all sub-streams
- Foreign Worker in Skilled Trade stream
- Skilled Worker Outside Ontario stream
- Regional and Community Partnership stream
- Francophone Pilot stream
- Entrepreneur stream
- Investor stream
⚠️ Deadline: May 30, 2026. Tech-sector OINP-EE streams remain open for now, but capacity is limited.
Why Is This Happening?
Ontario has reached its 2026 federal allocation cap. Ottawa reduced provincial quotas as part of the temporary resident cap policy (5% of total population). The OINP must manage capacity more restrictively until 2027.
What Streams Remain Open?
| Stream | Status After May 30 |
|---|---|
| OINP-EE: In-Demand Skills (tech) | ✅ Remains open |
| OINP-EE: Skilled Trades | ✅ Remains open |
| OINP-EE: International Student (tech) | ✅ Remains open |
| All other OINP streams | ❌ Closed May 30 |
