CEC: The Priority Path for Workers in Canada
The Canadian Experience Class is the most active stream in 2026. It is designed for candidates who have been legally working in Canada for at least one year in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation under the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
CEC Eligibility Requirements
- At least 12 months of skilled Canadian work experience in the past 3 years
- NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation
- Language requirements: CLB 7 minimum (TEER 0/1), CLB 5 (TEER 2/3)
- Intent to live outside Quebec (or obtain a CSQ for Quebec)
๐ PGWP Holders: Plan Ahead
If you are working in Canada on a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP), your Canadian experience counts toward CEC eligibility once you reach 12 months. Submit your Express Entry profile 6 months before your PGWP expires to avoid any gap in status.
