Quebec Experience Program (PEQ)

Important Notice: Program Closure

The Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) officially ended on November 19, 2025. It is no longer possible to submit new applications for permanent selection. For new candidates, the replacement solution is the PSTQ via Arrima.

What happens to your CSQ application under the PEQ?

Despite the program's closure, the Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) ensures continuity for certain profiles:

  • Existing Applications: All applications received before November 19, 2025, will continue to be processed according to the selection rules in effect at the time of submission.
  • Transitional Measures: Specific provisions have been implemented to protect candidates who had already started their process. It is essential to consult a Pro Immigration expert to validate your eligibility for these exceptional measures.

What are the alternatives to the PEQ in 2026?

Since the PEQ is no longer accepting new files, the primary pathway to obtain permanent residency is now the Quebec Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ).

Unlike the PEQ, this system is based on invitation-only selection. To successfully transition and obtain your Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), you must optimize your score according to the new points grid:

  • Your professional profile (NOC code and TEER category).
  • Your French language proficiency (oral and written).
  • Obtaining a Validated Job Offer, which remains the key asset for receiving a rapid invitation.

Why choose Pro Immigration for your transition?

The shift from PEQ to PSTQ requires specialized technical expertise. We support you by:

  1. Verifying if you qualify for the transitional measures of the former PEQ.
  2. Calculating and optimizing your score within the Arrima pool.
  3. Securing your CSQ application.
